Need help with E60

Guys I need help here is the story left home for durban on the way at the last toll gate car started idling lumpy as I pulled off the car had a misfire and the engine light came on I pulled to the side of the road switched the card off and started it again engine light went off and all was fine again next stop same story again now everytime I come to a stop when the revs drop to around 800rpm engine light comes on and I have to switch the car off and then on again quickly put it in drive and then so long as the cars rev is above 1500rpm no problem untill the next stop when the engine light comes on again anyone had a problem like this the car is a E60 525 auto

THis one is really easy to fix.

Its one of the cams or the crank sensor, drop the car onto diagnostics, R1500 (guessing here) for a new sensor from the agents or cheaper elsewhere, and your on your way.

The sensor has gone completly, and its not giving you an intermittant fault which is tough as nails to diagnose.

Proper garage with a decent machine will have this sorted in minutes, but my money is on one of the cam sensors
