So today the connector on the coolant pipe broke, looks like it was waiting to happen, the connector was slightly corroded. The whole pipe costs like R2k plus but my pipe is still in great condition, just connector broke. Any advise how to fix it without replacing the whole thing.

Was thinking about cutting a piece off the hose just below the metal band and get a new connector to push into the hose and use a clamp to tighten it but doesn’t look like anyone sells the connector loose. Even on real oem, it’s only listed as the whole hose and a single unit with the connectors.

Replace the whole thing, all the plastic pieces will be brittle and all are at risk of breaking.

So far the rest looks good. I think somthing was dripping on the connector and corroded it. Even the pipes look fine. I found the part online but in germany :(

NORMAQUICK® PS3 NW12 0 Degree straight connector.

Spoke to the agents for Norma in south africa, they said that PS3 quick connectors are only available at the dealers but the problem is that the dealers use different part numbers so now searching for a matching part number.

That just might work. Thanks. The pipe does has abit of extra length. Will give it a try this weekend and see if it works.

If I have learnt anything through the trails and tribulations of BMW ownership, it’s don’t F with the cooling system.

Replace everything with agent parts ideally.
