Bmw agents are extremely expensive, just try one of the reliable bmw dealers (new and used spares) whereby the buy accident damaged cars, you can get an ignition with lockset for less than R5800.00, in Pta I was quoted R3000 including instalation that much better than R5800. Best of luck:thumbsup:

Sorry to hear.
You should have cover on your short-term insurance even if it is only R 2 000.
If you don't have it..... maybe you need another broker?

a new key can be created, but you will need a locksmith that knows his stuff.. ie. he will have to know how to cut a shaft to fit an existing ignition barrel (without an example key!), and then he will need to know how to use the existing EWS unit to program a new transponder to work with the existing ews..
the only locksmith i know of that could possibly perform all this would be in esselin steet in sunnyside, pretoria.. right at the end, near the bronberg church.

Thanks for all the feedback guys - I actually went the Insurance route - and alas!! I am still waiting till today my cuffin insurance doesnt want to pay talking about another car that we were inusred with them lasy year that was not covered for 15 days. What that has to do with the Bimmer I dont know - especially since we did not skip any payments. Insurance co's are just cuffed up sometimes.

Hi Guys!!!
My driver's side can't lock with the key, is there someone who can help with the driver's side door lock with key(complete lockset including the bonnet transponder), I've been told to buy the entire lockset with ignition. I don't need the ignition, I just need the lockset for the doors, pls pls pls help :cursin:
