Need a bit of help non BMW related

hi guys i would like advice from all experienced guys on a 2007 Merc A 170 elagance auto. done 70000 km . in east london the asking price is R 124000. car is in very good condition looks clean is it worth ?....what would be ideal price for it i was thinking between 117-120.
All advices would be appreciated .

I have 2 mates with A-Classes, both big Merc fans, but extremely disappointed in those A-Classes

1. A180 CDI, extremely hard to work on the engine, due to compact design, had some issue during service, they had to remove the motor to fix, this runs up the cost of basic repairs and you are without a car for a week.:nonono:

2. A160 (previous model), something went wrong with the key, he is still waiting for a new ignition ex Germany, cost is around R15k:thumbdo:

These are my only experiences I have around the A-Class, unfortunately both bad

Stay away from the A-class, my Boet's wife have had two, the A160 and the A200 Avangard. They had issues with both these vehicles from day one. The Avangard's gearbox packed up, various suspension parts just simply broke to due to metal fatique.

He has bought a C-class since for his wife, he was told by the salesman who sold him the C-Class that the A-Class was never meant, or made, for South African conditions.

They are all unhappy with it, they are quite troublesome. Save yourself the headache mate, don't go there.

Jeez, I didn't know it was that bad... I knew about the suspension problems of the A, but looks like you're going to have to settle for a BMW then

Yet my friend's wife has an A170 and she has not had any issues. However, she is 68 years old, never exceeds 70 km/hr and in the 5 years she has had it, only covered 38000 km.

Maybe its an old toppie/madam's car
