Nice going Baz.

Who will apply colour for you?

A spraypainter who does work on evenings and weekends. He also resprayed my VW Beetle more than a year ago.
But after all my hard work he gives me a quote of R10K just to complete the preparatory work like sanding, panelbeating, etc. And I have to buy the paint. Too much!

I think I can carry on getting a helper to do some odds and ends for me. Then I will ask around for reputable spraypainters, check out some of their sprayjobs, ask for a price and have it done. But R10K for me feels like I am being exploited....

Pay a bit more for a decent finish. You have come this far, dont ruin the whole car with a sub standard spray job.

Easy like Sunday mornin..... Before I delivered her to the spraypainter. Sanded down to the first paint she got at the factory. Since I recently found out that I do have muscles that came out of hibernation, the lower part of the body will be sanded by the spraypainters helpers. I still removed the door trim, backboard, aerial and door rubbers afterwards. Will buy a second-hand bonnet as the one on the car has too much rust. Will find out about pricing and order new rubbers and door weather strips.

So, now the wait begins. She will be sprayed in a booth. No final payment should that not happen. Until then, it is over and out!
