yes , we have a target in mind. lets see what the car can produce after tuning.......proof is in the Tuning....:thumbsup:, its going to be work in progress and tuning will be done in stages, will keep u guys posted along the way.......

Will you do a comparison to the n54, not just on power, but on the road aswell..?
I know you got some n54 cars with software only!!!

i think it will be a basic flash and not a very strong tune. It will take awhile to get this one just right. Untill then the N54 is the tuners dream. :excited:

As you all may know the N55 is not quite a evolution of the N54 - its packed with the latest technology from BMW with a lot of improvements over the N54.

In terms of the DME BMW went all out to prevent tuners from tampering with the MEVD17.2 ECU.

BMW have switched from Siemens in the N54 to Bosch direct injection in the N55 and Bosch have made a special DME for this project.

The MED17.x has been available in the market for a while and has been used in vehicles such as the R56 Mini Cooper S with single turbo and direct injection.

The main difference with this DME is that it has two processors with two internal flash memories - the second processor is something that the tuning industry has not seen in a DME before hence the delay in a solution being available.

Needless to say FRC have a solution to do program this DME - for now it will have to be removed and done on the "bench" but OBD flashing is not far off.
