i am not sure if the following has been adressed,if so this thread can be merged or deleted.just wanted to know,if one was to do straight pipe on N55 essentially 'decat' while keeping the backboxes on,what difference would this make?im aware that the difference is KW is neglegable considerin how small it is,however as far as torque and turbo spool?what would be the effect.Oh and the car has lets say for instance just software and a downpipe.TIA:thumbs:

by doing the n55 mid pip you are essentially remove the catts, hence more gas flow, not much in actually power gains but better more torque, DP's increase turbo spool, i.e quicker - this has been my experience.

As Rowen said.

If Im not mistake the center ones are filters and the cats sit on the DP itself but thats on N54

N55 does not have these center sections

The only catts in the N55 are in the downpipe.

now that i did not know,thanx bud.so removing all the cats would mean removing them from the DP?sorry if its a dumb question,this is a learning curve for me.

@DOC get/buy catless DPs.

Bolt off original DP and bolt on new catless DP.

When car goes into XXX , take of the catless DPs and bolt on the originals

Not sure about the mid cats on the N55...Pop in at Powerflow and have a quick check...then get rid of them if they still there. :thumbs:
