Glad i took the aftermarket warranty, they covered my Voltage Regualtor and Alternator Refurb and now my snails :)

May i ask who you are with, and if you had to remove your mods when you did your warranty claims?

Nice bud, good to know that this is the lowest price that I've heard for these parts. Makes me feel a little better lol

Is it better to replace your waterpump and thermostat once you're in the region of 130,000km's or just wait for it fail and then replace?

Well - its a common item. Unless you want to be stranded on the road then I'd say change it. I'm just over 140k and seems to be fine. No errors on the scanner either.

I don't have high hopes for the part though. It's a case of "when" and not "if" it breaks

Thats my feeling as well. Im not keen on being on stranded and risking overheating issues. Now I need to get my mind around forking out +/- R10k for something that is'nt broken.

so just a bit of an update... ended up going DIY. was actually pretty simple. not even half a day job and it was done.

sadly though, after replacing waterpump and t-stat, i still had coolant level low warning. did some investigation and found that my sensor on the bottom of the expansion tank was faulty. got a new one from goldwagen @ R67. 10mins to replace and all is now well. which leads me to believe that my sensor was probably the initial cause of the overheat warning as the old pump is functioning still.

did a lookup and the pump was replaced under warranty recall @92k :(

non the less, at least now i know its something to now worry about for some time:eek:mgwaiting:
