N54 tuning - Cape Town

Hi Guys

I am new to BMWs and to this forum.

I recently purchased a BMW 135i N54 with carbon pack and Schnitzer exhaust. It looks and sounds great but am looking to add a bit more power and was wondering where the best place to turn to is for a tuner in Cape Town.

I have heard of a few names: Xcede, Procede, Rennzport, Tuned2Race and was wondering if you guys could give me any tips as to who provides the best service and product (most power gains).

Thanks!

Rennzport is based in Cape Town and Twinz seem to be their resident N54 whisperer so I would have them do the tuning if it were my car.

Procede sounds like a good marketing name but I think you meant Promotec :=):

We do software updates in the flash which we consider the most efficient and sophisticated way of doing it!

However there is Rennzport as Legacy posted above who install a module called JB4 which is a piggyback solution for those concerned about motorplan.....

Talk to us and we will give you further advice

Thanks Rolf, are the power gains similar between the piggyback and "in the flash" options, and how easy/quick is it to have the engine programmed back to "standard" with the second option?

Like I said before, in our view the flash option is the more thankful solution with higher power gains
To "uninstall" the software the car needs to be reflashed with the backup of your car, which we do for free if requested.

Reprogramming the module back to standard is just a matter of minutes!

Contact twinz on this forum and get yourself a jb4 with the g5 board and the ISO mod :)

You will be able to read and delete codes on your car, log it as often as you like and the support from terry and twinz is something else...

rolf speaks the truth. i opted for the jb4 piggyback because of motorplan. it also performs very well and aftersales support is great. you need to speak to the experts like rolf and twinz, weigh up the pros and cons of each and decide. whatever you decide on, you are going to be smiling with the added power.

Thanks everyone for the advice and for taking the time to inform a newbie with very limited knowledge!

Procede sounds like a good marketing name but I think you meant Promotec :

PROCEDE has the fastest 335 in the world.

No marketing lingo

in Cape Town?
PROCEDE is definitely no marketing lingo, very happy with my unit and it delivers some serious power. Went for the Procede V5 over the JB4 as it gives you a little more flexibility, and few additional fine tuning options in terms fully customisable maps etc over the JB, nevertheless that said its still much of a muchness between the 2 products and I also rate the JB4 highly.

The major issue I have however is that trying to get hold of Vishnu is very difficult and they don't have local representation (yep nothing in Cpt). So therefore I would not recommend the Procede to anyone just starting out. If you know how to log the car properly and know the basics of tuning then its a different story, but it has taken me months of playing around to get it right

You are missing the point guys!

Here is the request:

JB4 is represented by Rennzport just as I stated in my first reply and we at Promotec are doing the flash version!

Two easy and non complicated solutions for someone who is new and asks for advice.

We can drag this issue down and down and down and people could come up with kelleners or Schnitzer or Alpina or hartge or or or ... but all would be the same failure to the original request!

My two cents .... now flame me :biglol:
