N54 o2 sensor codes

I have had a rough idle the last week. But only on cold start when its colder outside its worse. At 1st i thought it might be carbon buildup since im at 96000kms so i did the carbon clean on friday and it didn't help my rough idle.

So i downloaded mhd from the app store and read my codes. It shows a misfire on cylinder 1-3 that is bank one. It is also said oxygen sensor before catalytic converter i assume that one is causing the misfire on cyl 1-3 . I will post a few screenshots of the codes. It also says oxygen sensor 2 before the catalytic converter but no misfire on bank 2?. Does this mean both of my pre cat o2's are bad? I am going to clear the codes for the 1st time and see which ones come back after a drive.

My main question is were do you guys buy the oxygen sensor? I can get one from bosch that i can get in 3 days for +- R1700 vs bmw asking R4950 for the SAME PART NUMBER. O boy how i hate the Stealers! :skit:

There are the codes and that is the 02 sensor i need if i am right.

No not yet i have a set of rensport downpipes and mmp inlets that are waiting.

Im still on the stock map also. I want the car to be 110% before i give it so much more power. The car has a full decat,Bms DCI,BMS chargepipe and aftermarket mufflers. But thats it for now

Have your tried trouble shooting misfires on the plugs or coilpacks yet? I had o2 sensor codes but it turned out to be one of my coilpacks that was faulty.

I replaced all plugs and coilpacks with new Bosch units less than 1200kms ago. So its definitely not that

The misfire is not intense like it would be from a plug or coil either

Note we did not replace the intake manifold gasket after the carbon clean. Im not sure if that would cause it possibly?
Im going to clear the codes and see what comes back for now.
 
So i cleard the dme codes and started the car it sounded good. I then took it for a drive and did some pulls car felt much beter for the 1st 10-15kms but not 100% perfect on the way home had a small rmp surg once but thats it. So it must be a 02 sensor or the gasket is worn in my manifold Causing it... What do you guys think?

option 1:
swop the o2 plugs for precat around...

option 2:
your leaking an injector in bank 1 which will also cause your rough idle on start up... (try parking the car overnight and pulling the plugs the next morning without starting the car) if any of them are wet or smell of fuel you know where to investigate further.

I'll try option 1 soon.

It did cold start perfectly when i cleard the codes and the car was standing for over 12 hours. Which makes me dout the injector thing pluss no smell of fuel. But i will do it if i don't come right. I am going to reset the lamba sensor adaptions with mhd and see if that helps. Some guys from the states say its coz i have no catalytic converters (full decat)... And no tune...

Had the same issue last year, new Bosch O2 sensor and got the dealer to install.
Fixed.

You could try swopping Sensors but for the labour cost component just get it replaced.

Do you pay import tax on that o2 sensor when it lands here? If so then it would work out about the same if not then its a bargain! Thanks for your input im sure my car will be 100% very soon :) (waiting on the part to come) this weekend its time for FBO and MHD can't wait!

Where can i buy the oxygen sensor for bank 2? Bosch will take 4 weeks to order it in no more stock :( and im not paying Almost R5600 at bmw.


I am wondering how many of these codes are here because i have no cats and no tune yet.

You have no cats?

You will def get codes without a tune.

This is what codes I had when my o2 sensor went bad(I have catless DP’s)

2C2E Lambda probe in front of catalytic converter 2, thrust control
2F9E Thermic oil level sensor
2C3E Lambda probe in front of catalytic converter 2, control failure or cable transmission failure?
2A2C Fuel mixture control 2
29E1 Fuel mixture control 2
