Any one here using the sachs race clutch plate and pressure plate on a locally built smf?

Or are there other options? ............... besides the 550i clutch kit.

I have looked at the mfactory smf with a spec stage 2, but i will explore local before i commit to importing anything.

Let me know if you guys know of any reputable and reasonable clutch kits that will do well for high torque applications.

I am also looking at doing the clutch upgrade, however all the guys i spoke to locally and overseas have suggested the 550i clutch. I will let you know if i come across anything different/better.

Ive been doing research on this and many articles suggest the 550i clutch... its apparently very effective and doesnt compromise comfort. So yes I second Jeremy.

I have had the 550i clutch in my car now for around 3 years, it holds torque much better (standard clutch lasted 6 months)
There was absolutely no compromise to drivability or comfort.

It has started slipping in fifth gear but only when the car is in full kill mode and not every time, but I did not expect it to last this long to be honest.

I did a 12 flat quarter mile with it so the car is no slouch for what it is, I'm sure once you upgrade the turbos and start putting down proper power an actual upgraded clutch would be better but then its not so nice daily driver because it becomes an On/Off switch!

I Fitted a SACHS 330d clutch to mine...DMF with CDV delete....Many early ST guys ran this clutch as it can hold done more torque... Not that my stock car was ever gonna push as much:LOL: but pedal feel is fantastic and its never let me down...was not bad from a price perspective either as i recall it was cheaper than the 335i clutch.

Most suitable option for you, depends on your power goals

If you would like , have a few Sachs Performance options both compatible with the OE DMF set up,
Organic is rated for 540nm+
Sintered is rated for 780nm+
We order this from Germany as its made to order for our market usually 2 weeks or so.

From our VW/Audi kits complete with new flywheel is +-R24000 with sintered option.

From what if seen a Mfactory flywheel and a Oem 550i Clutch works wonders even on a big hybrid 135i running sub 12s on the street.
