Basically beginning part of the exhaust, directly behind turbo(s). Stock they have a catalytic converter and when people say installing downpipes, they are replacing stock ones with ones that don't have cats. Turbos spool up easier/faster and you can get good power gains and some great sounds.

Go to ACD in Meyerton. Speak to Martin, hes done a few already including mine. Old Toyota Dealership garage in Meyerton. From Vereeniging on R59 take Johan Le Roux offramp. Right at the top and follow the road and you will see ACD on the right at the second filling station.

Thanks... what are the downsides and disadvantages? Consumption? Longevity of turbos?

You will get a better sound out the back, although I deleted the center cats too. Performance increases but normally helps if you do some software. Only downside is that the car might smoke a little after the delete, this is normally because the cats collect any oil coming out the motor. Smoking can be normal or can be a sign of worn valve stem seals, bad PCV or other causes. The turbos normally do burn of oil due to the seal system that uses exhaust back pressure to seal. Removal of the back pressure can allow oil to seep through the seals and burn off as smoke.
