Hi guys

I have 135i N54 1month out of warranty 80k km and as soon as I chipped ECU engine quit at high revs/ wide throttle, engine then sounded like it was running on 3cyl. Switching on and off back to normal.

Dealer said it was coil packs but when I got the two that were replaced there was no obvious sign of deterioration rubber looks ok. Only the two plugs looked fouled, some whitish powder/deposit around the body. R900 ea later methinks I was had. Said I should replace other 4? How do I check that the coil packs are actually the issue? All spark plugs changed. Total bill R5k.

what software(chip) are you running?

Issue with misfire already present with OEM software, it was exacerbated with ATM chip. Even with replaced 2 coils, still some misfire under hard acc. http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/images/smilies/2014/blueCry.gif

HI Guys, my apologies for not checking this thread more often.

My contact at Bosch has fallen Ill and been booked off for a couple of months.

I cannot get coils for the time being.

Your best bet is Diesel Electric if you need urgently.
