N54 Clutch Replacement

Hi Guys

Any good recommendations for clutch replacement on Tuned N54?
I told JSN the clutch was on it's way out a month ago. Their wonderful all knowing mechanics said it's fine, and a month later it's completely dead. OEM wont last long anyway, I need something decent that will hold up under the torque.

Clutch Master FX300 if you're gonna still be doing a lot of traffic driving else FX400 for your build would be perfect.......

SPEC Stage 3+ Clutch BMW 135i 335i 335xi 535i 535xi N54

There comes a point when the added horsepower and torque to a vehicle becomes to much for the stock clutch to handle. SPEC Clutches released their Stage 3+ for cars looking to push the limits and hold upwards of 671ft-lb of torque. The clutch comes with a throw out bearing that allows for two different engagement points and can be paired with an OEM flywheel or an upgraded flywheel (single or dual mass / aluminum or steel / self adjusting or non-self adjusting) for the ultimate upgrade.

MANUFACTURER SKU: SB533F (OEM Type) / SB533F-2 (Non-OEM Type)

Availability: In stock

Maybe just for now get the clutch replaced under MP, you wont be spending any cash and the car will be mobile again.

Then look around for an upgrade.

I hear you.

But it will give the time you need to research the clutch you need.

If your car's under MP why is it a mission? If it were my car I'd drive it to the dealership. Get them to replace it. Then drive to a independent and have them fit the new clutch then sell the OEM clutch. That's what I would do.

+100

You can then recover some of the money to be spent on the upgrade clutch. By selling the OEM one.

Makes sense

Ya how much did it set you back. My clutch is so bad cant drive. Still pondering what to do. Something that will hold 700nm or OEM that will just die under the power. I live in JHB and sit in traffic so clutch and go is just one of those things for me.

Whatever you do please do not fit a 6 button copper clutch as that will require a lot of effort for smooth transitions.
Button copper clutches are pretty much for a track car and are not smooth.
Equally I doubt a stock flywheel will cope with that clutch setup although I could be mistaken.

Your best bet would be to fit an OE clutch in the interim and get another one from overseas.

4 piece button clutch strengthened pressure plate and release bearing. As I said work is still being done so will give more details upon completion. The initial quote was around R 3000
