N46 timing chain guides

Hi guys,

Has anybody worked on a n46 320i engine? I have one that has come in with a cracked upper timing chain guide rail. I have looked on the net but there is not a lot of info on this engine.

i would like to replace the guide rail .... Has anybody done this before ... A little advise and help would be most welcome

Do you intend replacing the chain too?

Thanks Ters .... I found a lot more info when searching n42 instead of n46.

KAK job !!!!! .... The sump has to come off which means the front chassis crossmember has to be dropped and some tools will need to be fabricated to hold the cams and balance shaft ...... Grrrrrr .... The owner is going to kak himself when he gets the quote

I wonder if anybody has had any success in splitting the chain and joining with master link ? LoL .... Wishful thinking
