In automatic mode the car is around 10.9-11.0lt/100km but when I use it in manual mode with the paddles I got it down to 10.3lt/100km, same route and same traffic conditions.:clapper:

Because I use the mommy mobile to drop my wife off at work and fetch her each day from Ophirton. Plus its such a comfortable car to drive in traffic...

So at this rate, your next upgrade would be an X5 :)

Papers will be delivered between 10 and 2 on friday, sorry for the delay :skit:

Congrats Gizmo,

I love these, And they are quite quick with the 3.0l.

One stupid question I have on these, are they limited in any way at the top?

I remember once (on a closed road far from any people :RedNo:) I took one up to 235km/h down hill, it didn't go faster and was still a bit off red line.

:ty:

Or air strip.

:cartel:

No I was just wondering, it is way to fast for a SUV in any case but still felt brilliantly stable.

I must say, they are great.

Sunroof broke. Can't close it. Just came back from dealers and the parts to fix it are going to run me back over R7k, wife and I are pissed off and we cannot afford to fix it right now. :(

That is not good. Can you not close it manually with the Allen key?

I don't even want to think about what the X5's sunroof would cost to fix if this was to happen. Especially the Panoramic sunroof.

Gizmo I have fixed my own sunroof in my garage with two bolts and a small piece of stainless steel I still have your number will give you a call later night around 7 if that is cool with you. It is bit of a long winded job but it dead simple to fix.

And some silicone spray to make slide nice and smooth again it. Been working fine for almost a year now.

Apparently its a common problem on BMW panoramic sunroofs, the plastic parts go brittle with age and break apart. BMW do sell the parts I need but only in a kit form, cannot buy just the parts I need. Front kit around R3500 and rear kit around R2500 plus the cassette has to be removed, stripped down, replace all the plastic sliders and bits and then re-install the cassette and prey you don't end up with water leaks. Sunroof broke in the vent position, allen key supplied just bends and cannot turn the motor. I have the main glass out until I can fix the damn thing so no more driving it until we can afford to fix it.
