Will the paddle shift be possible on an E46 330d auto?

If you have the round airbag steering wheel then at least you won't need to change the airbag out to fit a e46 m3 SMG s/wheel. Slip ring would be interchangeable too between e46 and e39.

Shall I go pick up another SMG steering wheel, slip ring and plugs in the meantime? Will make up a plug and play kit.

But the old guys in E39s don’t need steering shift since they never in a hurry and all retired :fencelook:

Already picked up another M3 SMG steering wheel, SMG slip ring and made up another plug and play wiring harness using OEM plugs just like the X3's one. So if you have a steering wheel with the round airbag then this will be all you need for the conversion. R5k installed.

Now Im getting used to the paddles, the car still auto downshifts when coming to a stop and stays in second gear from a pull off, this helps save fuel so the minus paddle isn't really needed in traffic, just end up using the plus paddle and have already seen a decrease in fuel consumption as you shift to 5th gear really early and use the great low end torque of the 3.0lt to propel you.
