Thanks guys!! Yeah Motorplan not something to think about if your car is modded like this... I will be getting an Audi TTS engine cover for the engine bay and new pics will follow!

In the meantime...

Had the car at our local AWD dyno again...

Here are the figures... My old 95 program figures (left) and new 104 program figures (right)

And a little video...

That is really strong.
Torque and power comes in quite late though, but the graph looks good.

Madness.
I know of a special ed35 pushing out similar figures.
Nicely done mate!
So much acceleration from so "little" power

Thanks for the comments guys! :ty:

Figures are on the crank boys. If you look at the dyno sheet on the left, it says "Ambient and Engine power corrected"

Wheel figure sheets will only have "Ambient power corrected"

However, I'm not too phased about it cause this dyno is pretty stingy and is about 20kw and 30nm off from ALB which reads a bit more but is actually the benchmark dyno in my opinion. The reason I use this dyno is cause I dynoed here when my car was stock. It's 10kms away from me and it's in the Free State so it's easy to check gains. That is what a dyno should be used for after all? Happy to see that all the money spent is showing gains at least! The curves are smooth, so there is no timing pull and that my fuel mixture was right.

There is also a possibility of extracting more power with the 104 map according to my tuner. He still says there is room for more improvement on that file, but all in due time! :=):

Nice car and grat mods  why don't you move the AP badge infront of the R on the left would look neater or maybe you like it the way it is  love these cars drove one that had revo stage one and pulled nice no traction issues

Thanks guys!! :ty:

She runs really well. Will know soon once Dragwars comes up in July!

@ StreetDreamer

Like where the badge placement is bud. Under the R badge it looked a bit cluttered and 'busy'

Tony had a lovely Peugeot 207 GTi prior to this beast. Quickest Peugeot 207 in SA at the time as far as I know.

Well done on your build man

Been a helluva while guys...

I had my DSG software done courtesy of our local HPA MotorSports agents!

And here is the result:

Did a quick vid with my GoPro over the weekend...

This is with my APR 104 map and some octane booster in the tank with WMI on.

Anyway, here is the vid... Car really performs well for it's state of tune.

Here are some race vids from Dragwars in July...

Unfortunately being the first time at the strip I had a few problems... I only managed a 13.03 with an exit of 170km/h

Besides the fuel mix that I got horribly wrong with my 104 map (Too much pump fuel in cause I didn't judge distance properly) and when I got back home later in the week my car started spluttering. Removal of the plugs showed that they were completely fouled. 12000kms of mileage and the plugs were stuffed. This NF stuff really not good on them and I only used 6 tins in that mileage.

Anyways I replaced the plugs and got a hold of some witches brew to mix with my fuel. Did some logging and this went to a Ford ST event at ODI... This was the result...

Quarter mile time of 12.59 with an exit speed of 177km/h...

And I also did 235km/h over the 1 kay!

Car is happy now. On to the next modding phase which is very low 12s!

I also received my Audi TTS cover which I had painted Candy White to match the car..

And fitted it with the required mounts to my engine bay.

Bought a Polar FIS+ Advanced...
20130831_120659_zps891a49c6.jpg

Also did the infamous cam follower inspection check on my R...

Got the follower, new seal, and 3 new bolts from VW
20130917_134901_zps650c1be8.jpg

My new follower on the left. Old follower on the right... The car has 13900kms on. The HPFP was installed at just under 3000kms, so it's safe to say the car has done 11000kms on Stage 2+. The follower has no signs of wear!!

New fresh oil!
20130917_160243_zps3f82ecc6.jpg

Had the following parts fitted: Neuspeed Underdrive power pulley, Audi RS4 FPR, and a Torque Solutions PCV block off.
Although APR say a RS4 FPR are not required on their tune, I felt this is a safe reliable mod to do and shouldn't cause any harm.

And I also received my KW Variant 2 coilovers that were installed by Autoquip Fourways...

Unpacking and checking the kit...

Playing with the rear height adjuster. I adjusted everything to about 5 turns from max lowered setting. Once I feel they have bedded in proper, I can see if I want to max it out.

The fitment...

Comparison of the H&R rear spring with the KW rear spring. Note how much thicker the KW's coils are.

Rear installed...

Front spring comparison.

Front installed... (My car needs a decent BBK now!)

Alignment being done.

I then stopped at Sportech to have my car's revised file done. V3.31 to replace my old V3.0 file! So much smoother, linear and feels stronger!!

A very dirty R back home in Bethlehem the next day...

Which I remedied with a good valet again...

I returned to the dyno...

Techie lined car up for me.

The results:
Flywheel Power - Stock vs APR Stage 2+

Wheel Power - Stock vs APR Stage 2+ This puzzles me as there is no way a Golf R makes 133kw on the wheels in stock form. They normally make 160+kw on the wheels. And most Stage 2+ Rs are around 230wkw. So it's pretty safe to say that this dyno under reads by around +/- 30kw on the wheels for some reason.

And a video of how she performs on the streets..

Went to a place in JHB called Martine's Mag and Tyre in Benoni... Also a few kms away from me...

Parked at Martine's Mag and Tyre to receive some new shoes! The wheels purchased were from Velocity Motoring - The VMR V705 (5 spokes FTW!!!)

Abdulah went through the necessary steps to ensure no rubbing occurs on my car. He performed the necessary work I requested and did so whilst ensuring my safety! The wheels with ET45 were machined 5mm to bring the offset to ET50. Inspection was first done to ensure the wheel does not hit the coilover. Inserts were then used on the wheel to strengthen the wheel although there was more than enough meat to not really require this...
I must say the workmanship and service from Abdulah is outstanding!! Martine's Mag and tyre FTMFW!!

Tyres on the wheels are Yokohama S-Drive 225/35R19s. Would prefer the Yokohama Neova Advan AD08, but that will be the next upgrade in the future! These S-Drives are far from poor quality!

Comparing the 19" Talladega to the 19" VMR V705s

My old Dunlop Sport Maxx GTs... Finished at 15000kms. About 4mm thread still left on the other pair though

Fitment took place

Followed by a wheel alignment check. This was done as I lowered the front a little bit more. (by another 2 turns)

Quick snap taken after leaving Martine's Mag and Tyre...

On my way home.. Just could resist taking snaps!

Arrived home for another snap...

The R's suspension has settled in very nicely. She is really low now and still drives so great!!

Only issue I have picked up is slight rubbing in the front fenders now. The only serious part is if I have a heavy friend in the car and we enter driveways I can hear the tyre scrape against the fender. This only happens when the tyre is turned and the driveway is seriously inclined. Luckily I only crawl into a driveway so there is no damage being done, but I Will have to look at rolling them some time soon. I also get some rubbing on the black fender liners when going around a bend pretty fast.. Which is acceptable there. They say you "Ain't dubbin if you aint rubbin"

Gave the car a good clean and some Meguiars magic. Now that I had chance to detail the wheels properly, I did pick up some small chips here and there that obviously come from the previous owner. I will have to refurb these rims some time as I am pretty much a perfectionist when a car must be clean.

Nice clean pic taken after choosing the right background and lighting...
