A small update...

Going in on Friday for bearings. I'm glad that is sorted.

And then a good detail the following week once she's back

After that, she may be up for sale. Couple of other things in the pipeline, so it might be time to move on.

Do not sell it. You will regret it.

Honestly as much as these are high maintenance cars I think they will be extremely sought after one day.

The engine note from these v10s for me would be worth the stress of owning of one these.

What did you like and what didn't you like about this model M6?

I am planning on buying one. Estimated R30k yearly preventative maintenance. 3000km yearly, maximum.

Look forward to hearing from your experience.

What I like...everything. what I don't like...nothing ok, well maybe the maintenance. Normal maintenance isn't bad at all. Preventative maintenance or unforseen issues, a different story.

She is a dream to drive. Legs for days. Not the quickest off the mark, but being almost 20 years old now...that's expected.

I'd say if you are really interested, buy one where preventative items have been done, but by someone reputable, then still have another R100-150k set aside in case.

@Peter@AEW helped me with advice and sourcing parts for a repair. Peter, thanks again for all your help with this. She is running like a dream again. I'm not very car savvy, audio visual is my game, so Peter will be able to advise on what was done...if he's not too busy.

All I know is repairs and parts are not cheap to keep them running properly. But definitely worth it.

I'm still toying with the idea of selling her, but now that she's good as new, I'm finding it difficult to think of parting ways.

I think for their current selling prices and engine sound, a big win.

What sorted M car will you get for R350k - R450k* that sounds like an F1 car?

*even if you get to R500k, still cheap as chips comparative to new car prices, alternatives and the experience

Hi guys

So, I attempted a for sale ad, only to find that after all the years I've been on here, I haven't even made 50 posts. So much for that idea then, LOL.

Unfortunately I can't advertise it here. I'm not going to add some random comments just to get up to 50 posts.

The car is officially for sale, though. I am happy to share details.

I think R400k may have been a bit optimistic, even taking into account what all has been spent. But if someone is serious about it, drop me a message and we can discuss it. I'd prefer it going to a fanatic if possible.

Have a great evening.

So, six months after the work that was carried out, she is still running like a dream. Just spending too much time in the garage, though.

I'm possibly taking a trip with her down to Jeffrey's Bay the weekend, and then she needs to move on to someone who is able to enjoy her more.

Mileage just under 94000km. What would be a realistic price to ask?

Some info:

2007
Michelin PS4 all around - about 4000km on
FSH
Bearings and other maintenance carried out
Have all receipts and documentation
Ceramic coated inside and out

I think just give it to me, let me drive it for say, 3, maybe 4 years and then I'll give you a realistic evaluation
Haha, by then, its value may have gone up. May not be such a bad idea

Hi guys

Hope you are all well.

M6 went for an oil change today. I'm trying to do this every 6 months because my indie checks everything at the same time, so if anything comes up, we get to catch it early, and it can be sorted straight away.

So, today, oil change...only to find a slight leak on the diff and a leak on power steering line. Pic of the diff leak attached.

So parts were ordered today, about an hour ago, to be exact. Should be sorted by Friday.

Then, while on the hoist there now, I see two mags have damage. No tyre damage, which is weird. I'd expect the tyres to be damaged too. One is the clear coat, and the other is a chunk out. So both will be recut and coated on Monday. I have no idea when this happened. The other two are still perfect. The weird thing is that the one is the front driver, and the other is the back passenger. I'd have expected damage to them on the same side. But not the case.

So those are the updates from today. But I'd hate to have sold the car, and these issues cropped up with the new owner. So I'm glad it's happened now, and I can get this sorted.

Just to keep everyone that is potentially looking at this in the loop so you know what's going on with the car.

For now, she waits in the garage until parts arrive.
