My oldies.

I am a new member to the forum, did my intro.... I am sure the same feeling towards new members exist on all forums, "what does he want to know mahalla?" or "what does he want to advertise?" I will admit that I am interested in purchasing a BMW, but it is not my intention to "hit and run"!!
This forum is nice!!

In my intro I mentioned that I own classic vehicles, no Chargers, Eleonor's or SS's though.... I am only a normal 9-5 person, employed by an International company as a Print Instructor.

I'll start posting pics and description about my '72 Capri Perana clone first. She is actually a 1600 Capri body, fitted with a Basil Green Perana engine. The engine is from a Granada Perana, gearbox is a W58 Toyota Celica Supra 5 speed, mated to a 8.8" differential from a Ford Mustang. Diff ratio of 3.2:1. Really, really wild thing!

Currently the engine is out, to sort a vibration, and redo all the wires and brake lines. Me and my 16 year old son do all ourselves.

Thank you gentleman!

The second one is a '73 Chevy Firenza, powered by a 327cid V8 mated to a Turbo 400 auto box. Running through an M75 (Gearmax) differential, 3.7:1 ratio. The engine is fed through Chevy Camel heads, Edelbrock Torker inlet and 600 Holley carb. B&M shiter makes sure she stays in the right gear. Not as powerful as the Capri, but still no slouch!

Thank you! I was looking for a 2 door one (Can Am), but could not say no to this one.....Me and my son redid the brake lines, and fabricated the upper adjustable Trailing arms with Panhard rod, from seamless steam pipe. She does draw attention! Love this little Chevy.

Will post my '62 Fleetside tomorrow.

Your dad has good taste in cars!:praise: He has a piece of gold there....a piece of South African motoring history!! In my humble opinion, the Can Am's are more collectable because of their low production numbers. True, original Can Am's are so rare to find, your fathers looks unmolested.

I prefer my V8 Capri over the Firenza too, as far as performance goes...

ps. If he ever wants to sell....PLEASE let me know.

As promised, my '62 Chevy C10 Fleetside.

I bugged the previous owner for 13 years before he finally agreed to sell the oldie! His uncle passed in '86, he inherited the trokkie in '87....She stood parked next to his garage, uncovered, since then.

One Saturday we were on our way to some family gathering, when he waved me down. "Bring 5000 and come fetch the trok" was his words!! Screw the fam, I went and withdrew the money immediately and paid him. Took me and my son 2 days to flush all fluids, replace hoses and change points and plugs. She started on the third swing!!
Purrs like a kitten, inline 6, 235cid. Unfortunately mother nature has claimed her floorboards, and small pieces of the bin. All the brake slave cylinder are rusted too. She will only get new floor and brakes, and driven as is.....Ratty!!
