My New Toy - E39 540iM 6-Speed Individual

OK, so there is a higher order somewhere out there. Lost out on a deal involving an E34 540/6 and was pretty miffed about the whole saga. So I fly up to Joburg, took a drive further up north ... handed in the Avis Polo, and drove back to PE in this. With a much lighter wallet, yes, but with a very broad grin on my dial. What a beauty!

Now, I am a Happy Camper again. Hell, this is an awesome car! :clap::clap::clap:

Thanks guys, yes, she is a beauty. Just love the Individualised M5 trim. Colour is Aspen Silver. Exhaust sounds awesome! Philharmonic Orchestra in full flight! Milage is on the high side at 346k, but my intention is to restore her to her former glory, which will include a full and complete motor rebuild. At the moment though, the motor is solid, she purs like a kitten (a lion kitten), and growls like a rabid grizzly on steroids. There is nothing on this beauty that needs any immediate attention, everything works as it was designed. Hardly any wear on the drivers seat. Oh yes, she's a '98 model.

Awesome. 346k on the clock and still purring like a kitten. Just another reason why these cars are the bizznizz! If you have any time in the future, could you show us/ explain what exhaust mod is on your car, and possibly we can hear her too? I am hoping to do a complete dual exhaust mod soon and am curious about what mods have what results on these cars. :thumbsup:

Forgot to mention, she has full service history (bar 2 services) from BMW Dealers. Question though, how does one read the codes? I'm keen to see if there is any info stored in there
