My new ride-E82 135i DCT

I initially wanted an E46 M (high school dream car)...but couldn't find a decent one at the time..I then wanted an S2000...and couldn't find one AT ALL!!! I settled for a FN2 Type R. As reliable as it was, my heart was just never in it...

Eventually I just decided to put it up for sale, after 2yrs...

This is my 'new' ride. E82 135i N55 DCT. Wasn't my first choice for colour, but it's growing on me...Car has 99 xxx km's (got it at just under 98 000km's) Bluetooth, Aux, PDC, comfort access...

I said I wasn't gonna search far and wide for a car again (got the R in JHB at a dealership), but CT car prices are just ridiculous and the guys just can't be trusted...
My buddy and I flew to Bloem (flights were cheaper) and the plan was to shuttle to Kimberely (where the car was)...but they didn't have any rentals at the airport, and there were no shuttles available :eek:mgwaiting:

The owner graciously offered to BRING the car to me

About an hour into our drive, my bud hit a pothole at about 150km/h :blueCry:...I called the owner and he said the car is equipped with runflats, so we should just snail along till we can get it sorted. We eventually made it to Springfontein and I took the opportunity to tape up the car

...though they had some tyres, it was unfortunately not the size I needed. We were told to get to Colesburg, where there was a 24hr tyre repair place. When we arrived and called at around 22:30, the guy said he'd gladly help, only that he ALSO doesn't have the size I need :blueCry:
We booked in for the night, as I really didn't wanna drive any further.

Next morning, a guy from a nearby location said he MIGHT he have a tyre for me. We go with him, and lo and behold, he does!!!...I choose the nicest one, pay the man...and off we go to have it fitted and balanced...

...finally we're on the road again!!! Pitstop and fill up in Richmond

Eventually made it home, and she went for her first much needed wash...

Next up, I went to IE Distributors and got the rear tyre sorted with another Goodyear Asymmetric 2 (front is on order)

Next, charge pipe installed

Checking for any fault codes

That's it for now...

I bought the H&R Springs Kish had for sale before the car even arrived :fencelook:. So i'll have those fitted soon and will update again

Welcome and congrats on purchasing a phenomenal car:thumbs:

Maybe try uploading pics in the forum image uploader in the dialogue box at the bottom of the page. Photobucket images don’t show at all...

Nice, looking forward to the updates.

Why is there a blue cover on the front of the car?

To prevent stone chips from the expected road elements. I didn't do a really good job in covering everything, as I got gatvol and was already upset over the tyre's :fencelook:

Blue painters tape, works a treat.

Correct. Bought 2 rolls of the stuff (100 metres)

Was a bit concerned about any residue...but it was MINIMAL...and rubbed right off
