Hi guys...
So I thought it would a good time to introduce you guys to the 'other' woman in my life :inlove:
I was born in the 80's and grew up in the 90's ofcors :roflol: Mid 90's is when I develop my crush for the E36 M3. Awesome styling, perfect exhaust tone & the power to backup the reputation it's created.
I have grown a lot since then, but my crush had develop into a love for a M3. So when I felt I was financially ready to own my 1ST M3, the search started.
Being an optimistic guy, I'm always up for a challenge and a bit of project.
So in October 2011, a M3 came up for sale for duh cheap, she ofcors needed some work, but from what I could see not to much for me to handle and mechanically she felt and sounded perfect, so this is where it all began:flyfun:
The to do list:
- Forged M Double Spoke rims (purchased, refurbed & fitted)
- Full respray
- Interior clean & driver seat to be recovered
- Sunroof busted (now fixed courtesy of Webasto)
- Service and full mechanical check
- Front windscreen to be replaced
- Passenger side beadings
- Front bumper
- Remove gearlock
- Line exhaust up perfectly
The wants list:
- Coilovers (BC racing coilovers purchased & fitted)
- Intake (Afe intake purchased, not fitted yet)
- Poly Urethane kit for E36 M3
- Sway Bars
- E36 facelift kidneys & side markers
- Underdrive pulleys
- PSR interior lighting upgrade
- Exhaust de-cat
- PSR software
The before pictures I took of 'my mistress' have been losted due to a virus on fone of some sort (freaking Blackberry :argh
, so the only pictures I have is of the progress so far...
Getting a wash @ mechanic's workshop
Definitely needs a bumper
Coilies being fitted
Service parts purchased from BMW
Progress so far:
There was a oil leak on the car, which was narrowed down to a faulty tappet cover gasket, which has been replaced. Oil cooler bracket is broken, so is currently attached with tie straps :bangdesk:, bracket has been ordered from the agents as well as the RH side of the oil cooler air duct which is missing.
After the service, the car is running sweetly & sounding even sweeter, expect for one thing, there seem to be water getting into the exhaust system as the puff of steam shows in the vid
[video=youtube]
Mechanic says the replacing the cylinder head gasket, should solve that problem, so other than that 'my mistress' is mechanically sound.
After the mechanical work is done in the next 2 weeks, she be off to the panel shop for some cosmetic surgery.
Need to thank Steve 'Burgy' Burg from PSR (Project Shift Racing) for all the advice & my intake ofcors :joy:, definitely look forward to doing more work with PSR in the future. MRP Auto for excellent work done so far & the VIP parking spot :roflol:. And then last but definitely not least to my homies Mr Miles (BMW nutter) and Mr Benjamin (CPT's car styling guru) for all the motivation, support and peer pressure :ty:
Thats all for now folks, thanx for looking.
Comments welcome ofcors (please be gentle)
