@ AvusM3. are you also gonna be redoing the interior because the exterior looks perfect? anway you have done the car justice:bravo:

Yes indeed a full interior overhaul to be done by cabriolet in Durban! Seen their work and they have done my interior in my Navara, very high standard!

hello all,

A small little hiccup today, the weatherstrips on the doors dont look great so i have ordered NEW ones form the stealers. Actually not that bad price, R326 each for the rear and R628 each for the front. This means that all my rubbers, moldings and beadings are now brand new.

The windscreen fornt and rear has been replaced and the vehicle will be in polish tomorrow. We have delayed the finish date till next week once the weatherstrips have arrived. Otherwise all is good!

I have included a pic of my radio and ZHP weighted gear knob, yep, toys toys toys! I just Love it!

Looking really good and its best to pay the little extra to the stealers to get the results you are looking for. Not worth skimping on those little items when you have already spent the big bucks.

Are you also planing on doing drive train or mechanicals? control arms, bushes etc?

Hi there, yep that was the first step. replaced all the engine mountings, took care of the sloppy gear lever, complete suspension overhaul (standard suspension, bushes, links, control arms etc.), Service completed, clean bill of health form SMG in Shelly Beach! Did all of this before we started with the cosmetic overhaul!

I do so agree and it is often the small things like moldings and weatherstrips etc that let a restoration like this down. So yes, all replaced OEM and nice and shiny and new!

Your bill from BMW Shelly must have had close to 5 digits...

Were you at supa drift btw?

Nope i had to miss it, I had a Round Table conference! was at the first one, heard that this one was WAY better!

SMG not so bad actually, spend so far: R+- 25k, got about another R20 k to go which is the clutch kit, grrrrr!

Otherwise all is good, the basic of the car was all in order, so i had a good "canvas" to start with!

where you from mate?
