Ja those were the days - also heard of similar stories.
My dad wiill still speak of the time when I was born.
And a few weeks later the family of 5 made the trip to Caledon to my grandparents to show off "the new kid on the block" and it cost him R1 each way in his Morris Minor.

That was 1979...
