Its so your friends can also feel how shit they drive. :)

At least they never break!!

Congrats and the vellies are a must!!
πŸ˜‚ It really is a shit drive on the road but offroad it is great. I agree, you have to really be a special type of person to break a cruiser.
Vellies are on my Christmas list :ROFLMAO:
Congrats, Love it!

Do you have wind-up windows? πŸ˜…
Thank you πŸ™

Looked at a few single cabs with wind-up windows πŸ˜‚ amazing what we take for granted these days. It doesn't have much luxuries but at least I do have power windows, aircon, power steering and a single cup holder πŸ˜‚. That's pretty much it.

A friend's dad had one of those. We went hunting with it in the Kalahari some years back. While the other bakkies (a Nissan Hardbody 4x4 and a Hilux 4x4 went over the smooth ends of the dunes this uncle just drove over small trees like its nothing.
Funny enough as he stepped out he did wipe his vellies but gave zero F's about wiping the bakkie.

How has the Touareg been treating you?
It's the wife's daily and she is loving it. I do get allowed to use it from time to time, ie. when it's time to fill the tank or when it needs a wash.
Took it on a 7,000km road trip in January with about 2,000km of gravel driving and it did not flinch. I must say that coming from a Land Cruiser anything is more comfortable but the comfort of the Touareg offroad/gravel is unmatched. Long hours on the road and did not feel tired of being in the driver's seat. I was a bit concerned that the LCD instrument cluster/infortainment might start rattle with all the gravel driving, but it came back and fulfilled it's mall crawling duties without complaint nor rattle.
The V6 3.0TDi feels a bit different from the straight 6 Bavarian oil burner - cannot tell you exactly what it is (not good or bad just different). It is great drive with crazy torque is making the 3 tonne SUV drive like a small car. Overall fuel efficiency is at 7.8l/100km, which makes it the most fuel efficient car in our garage.
Rear wheel steering makes it amazing to manoeuvre in parking lots or when turning. It is a wide car but doesn't show it.
It's going for its 120,000km service soon and planning to keep it for some time because we're happy with it and I don't think we'll get anything better in terms of comfort, tech and features at this price point - unless the lottery gods bless us.
