My First

Hi guys, here's some pics of my E36 328i

I finally got the cash to purchase my first vehicle and was lost for choice between a sport bike or a Beamer. At first I wanted the bike because of the affordable access to speed and power but it's not very practical, so I started looking for a E36 328i.

I spent weeks looking for one in a suitable condition with a fair price tag. Eventually I gave up and decided to look for a 530i instead, then by 'luck' I found her; sitting hidden between a couple 5 series. A 97' E36 328i.

I believed they were good cars, but this is something else. It feels newer than new cars from other manufacturers. The engine keeps on keeping on, it's amazing. And best of all, it didn't cost me a couple hundred thousands to get a piece of the action.

I absolutely love this company, but it's still not enough. Maybe I should have gone with a bike, it would have to be beamer- they never give up.

will supply more images and info, can't wait to see what the other members have.

cheers.

Lovely car man. Its good to see that you thought about it before buying your first car and went for a "value for money" car. The e36 has it all for very little money. Theres not much out there that can offer you matching comfort, looks, performance and style for the same price tag.

Well done and welcome to the forum:thumbs:

I absolutely love these cars, and it's such a pleasure when you see another one on the road and in the hands of a fanatic. Too often they land up in the wrong hands and get abused, and yours looks very neat and in awesome condition. Was the first BMW I ever owned, and still one of the best driver's cars I ever had. Still miss it. Hope she treats you well and you look after her, that way she will look after you!Welcome to the family, and many happy miles!

Thanks guys, it's cool to meet like minded fans. :ty:

They really are amazing cars. I've had it for 6 months and needed to change the brake-light switch and broken radio. It's done 240 000 km and has a full service history.

Bmw's feel different from other cars, I can't tell what it is, but I believe the package is more completed than the vehicles I've driven before. I really like the low down power 'however' it dies-out at about 5500 rpm

The 1997 E36 328i
Was it hard to find? yep!
Do I love it? damn right I do!
Does it feel a little out-dated? yes, but still filled with awesomeness!
Do I still want a bike? can't shake the thought.

Yeah, they're really hard to find in working order. The 2 previous owners really cared for this car, It gives me pride to keep it going. If I do sell it for a bike, I'd like to know that it'll be cared for.

Like playa_r6, the 328i was my first proper bmw experience. Made me lust after these cars after that experience :)

The car was a dark metallic (boston?) green, just a few weeks old, 328i manual.
Black leather interior, with sunroof :)

My dad was driving, and even though he is a conservative driver, the car encouraged him to rev it all the way to 6000 rpm! What impressed me was how smoothly it revved to 6000 rpm( even slightly above ), and how willing the car was. It showed me how BMW 'knew how to design cars'.
