Can never understand why anyone that's not U.S based would use horsepower in any measurement ... Is it to make the figures seem bigger?

Car looks good though and amazing what these things put down in Stock and modified form

Added a few mods.
JB4, Drop in filters and meth.
Added eth and put it back on the dyno.
Quite happy with the result.

:roflol: well there goes the i'm leaving it stock part, that's damn strong for a jb4 only car how does she feel though? and Congrats on the new car Bud maybe we some a Single turbo S55 :smilebounce:

I don't think I will go single turbo. There are 1000hp capable twin turbo solutions in the works. The likelihood of me going over 600whp is slim. After that, you need to rebuild the motor, upgrade the gearbox, driveshaft and side shafts.

Then you have the biggest problem which I have encountered is, once you have taken the time to build a monster car, where and when do you use it?
99% of the time you are sitting in traffic or just plodding alone under the speed limit unless you are the type of person that likes using launch control at every traffic light.
The 318i with a B38 motor is honestly enough for day to day use.
I feel it pointless to spend all that money to make a car less useable.
I don't plan on buying a cheaper daily vehicle.

So the limit for myself is once the car starts becoming less practical I will stop modifying it. This is why I have never lowered my vehicles. Right now with meth and no eth, I have a 500whp daily vehicle which is plenty.

Horsepower is generally more accepted than Lama Trust. :fencelook:
Dyno results format are typically dependant on the individual tuning house. I personally couldn't be bothered. The conversion ratio is easy enough HP => KW = HP/1.341
This would mean the car made 423wkw.

I can't get over how strong your car is with the few mods you did..

Interesting conversion equation, I usually just do, HP => KW = HP x 0.746.. Whatever works I suppose :smilebounce:

Common now Chris is sounds like to trying to fight with yourself :smilebounce: but in all fairness I understand completely what you're saying. I would just try to bring it up to 500whp on pump and then you won't have to worry about it only being 500whp sometimes :fencelook: she is a genuine beaut, I look forward to your in depth reviews as you go along with the little build :cartel:

I'm using a tank that has 11.3 litre capacity.
I fill up once in three to four months.
I don't know what it will take to get the car to 500whp on 95ron but I would be supprised if it is possible with stock turbos.

oh well then it's not all that bad if you only have to fill up every 4 months, I assumed it would've been more often and over a shorter period. I think throw some hardware mods on to make her a bit more efficient and maybe a nice custom BEF you could possibly get close to the magic number.

The stock Pilot Super Sport tyres are just not coping. Even with a stock car now.
I wanted to upgrade to the Pilot Sport 4s but I ended up with a set of Toyo R8R's

Sheesh - is that a dry weather only tyre? it looks like it'll be deadly in the wet. Stay safe during the winter months bro! :) Car looks grand

I have a set of rims specifically for the Toyos.
I won't run them daily just when I want to push the car a little without the fear of lighting up the rears.
They should be decent in the rain however I'm not crazy enough to find out.

Yeah I didn't see this car staying stock for terribly long at all :roflol:

Great figures right there!
Let us know how the Toyo's hold up.

Also heard many a good thing about Vitours if you are looking for some cheap sticky rubber as well!

Unfortunately, the M is being traded in for something more practical now that I am going to be a father.

Going to miss this one most.

All the best with the new venture(fatherhood).

Good power.

Which dyno is this?
R&S Motorsport based in Midrand.
If you look at the second run you will see a noticeable drop in power. The car was perfectly prepared for the dyno. If I had you run it again I am sure I would drop another 10whp.
The car runs consistently at around 510whp when oil, air and coolant temps are up. This was after 8 runs on the IR dyno.

Sorry to hear that you have to sell, is it just the 2 doors that is the issue? I have seen some very nice M3s around hey, they feel a bit more exclusive to me.. Gets the baby seat in with no issues :smilebounce:

It's not just the lack of rear doors but the ride as well. Even with the adaptive suspension the M4 is not a comfortable ride, at least when compared to my wife's X5. So the car doesn't get used when we travel together. The only time I use it now is from Centurion to Sandton and back on weekdays. Driving a M in traffic is not my cup of tea.

The car was traded in yesterday and I picked up something a little better for commuting with a baby.
I will start a thread soon.
I also made it very clear to my wife that once the child turns three I'm getting a coupe again.
