My first DIY !!!!

Working on my Opel and MG ZR myself gave me the courage to tackle my first BMW DIY ....you know you have to work your way up to working on a much superior car raise:

Found the dreaded Expansion tank leak early , leaked right on the top seam . Got a Expansion tank from the boys at Goldwagen with the BMW logo scratched off, new cap and coolant from the dealers this morning . Google 'd the @#$ out of Expansion tank DIY and 90min later I was done... so far no leaks , heater blowing nice and hot and hidden OBD showing 92C when driving around in traffic a bit ....so far so good !!!

What do you mean you got a expansion tank with the logo scratched off?

The expansion tanks are molded with the BMW logo in the die.

The units for the aftermarket have the BMW logo removed.

Looks like the OEM tank minus the logo , bmw logo scratched off

Thanks guys , looks like Murphy at it again..... BMW cooling issue fix and just found a slimy brown residue on the MG ZR 's expansion tank ...looks like early signs of HGF..back to being a MG DIY mechanic again :argh:

Is the car over heating?

No not yet, loosing a bit of water. No mayo in oil etc just brown slime in expansion tank. Coolant color still ok ish

DIY # 2

Did the fuel filter change this weekend and the old one looks like the OEM one that came out of the factory even had those anti-tamper hose clamps on still...look at all the gunk that came out
