Hey Fanatics,

As some of you know that I am a filmmaker with a few feature films under my belt. A lot of you have given me huge support through the years, and I wanted to say thank you for that.

My latest film, LAST BROKEN DARKNESS, is now available to stream online through Vimeo on Demand. I know some of you have been asking me when it will be available here in South Africa, and I am proud to say today it is.

Below I have added a trailer and some promo videos to give you an idea of what the film is about. Further below is the link to purchase the film and stream in 4k Ultrawide. If you have an apple TV, you can watch the film on there if you have the Vimeo App. Same goes or any android or iOS device.

Lastly, I am including a 30% discount for the first 30 fanatics that purchase the film. My little way of saying thank you for the support. Just click on APPLY PROMO CODE on the checkout tab and use the code BMWFAN to get the discount.

Hey Firi,

That's strange. Follow the steps below to ensure all is working.

Step 1. Select BUY $13.99 from the right side of the screen under the main image.

This is top stuff.

I click Buy but nothing happens, I'll try in a bit again and hopefully it works.

By the way, buying it off Vimeo will give me a 4k copy right?

Hey Osiris. Yes, you'll be able to stream the film in 4K Ultrawide, or 4K Scope as we call it in the film industry. So if you have an ultrawide 21:9 monitor, it will fill up the whole screen. No black bars. If you have 16:9 monitor, it will be your normal 2:35 aspect ratio with black bars on top and bottom. You just need to ensure that you have 4k selected as the viewing source by clicking the gear tab on the bottom right of the player. From that drop down menu, select 4k.

The behind the scenes is in UHD 4k and the Directors commentary is just normal HD 1080p. We will be releasing some more special features soon, like deleted scenes. If you have purchased the film, you will receive these free of charge when they are updated onto the page.

Please let me know if you continue having problems with purchasing the film so I can forward your problem to Vimeo troubleshooting.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply. :)

I wasn't able to get it to work last night it just wouldn't let me pay for the film. But I will try again when I get home tonight.

My question regarding the 4k was if I get a 4k download option, I was under the impression that I could purchase and download the file itself in 4k. but if its a streaming vid only that's also cool I will just stream it :)

Thanks for the input and hopefully I get the purchase sorted tonight, Very keen to see the film, trailer looked great!

Osiris.

We have disabled direct download for the time being due to piracy concerns. We've already had my last film pirated due to the same VOD and ease at which people can download and re upload the film. In the event that we cancel our services with Vimeo, we will send a direct message to all users who have purchased the film, allowing them to download the film to keep in either 1080p or 4k 2160p.

We may or may not allow the option to download at a later date. For now, we wish to keep the pirates at bay.

Thanks for understanding.

PS. Try using this link to apply the Discount and buy the film -- https://vimeo.com/r/2v3T/MFhHbi8yej

Perfectly understandable man! If that helps prevent piracy then that's the way forward!

Just watched the trailer, first time seeing your work. Looks like something local that I can watch until the end, not like other local stuff.
I’ve always said S.A. needs a good Z movie, but my idea for the z virus would come from our own dr. Death.

Cheers @JdreB

Appreciate the kind words. Here is the latest trailer for the film that we are now pushing to all platforms.

Let me know what you think. =)

I watched the second trailer also, for some reason the way the sound sounds when the girl speaks it reminds me of some old Jamie Uys/Leon Schuster movies where they added the voices afterward.

This movie has a slight Book Of Eli vibe.
The main actor looks a bit like Tommy Flanagan but the character when he was in Sons Of Anarchy. (Chibs)

When I have time I will watch the full movie, but why didn't any oaks survive that speak boere English, not hearing any r's.

Watch the behind the scenes interviews once you get your copy and you'll see all the references I have made to some of the films I enjoyed whilst growing up. Book of Eli didn't have much of an inspiration on the making of this film, think more towards "the road", but similar genre nonetheless.

No Boere English I'm afraid. My biggest market that can relate is the USA, so we cater for them. 330 million people there with a massive cinema culture & disposable income vs a less than 7% cinema audience in South Africa with very little disposable income. I could make the film for South Africa, but then would not be able to sell worldwide. One would think, why not? Americans are lazy and for the most part, do not want to struggle with foreign language films. Boere english will be hard for them to understand. Afrikaans films cannot sell anywhere else in the world but here and maybe Netherlands.

So when people ask why SA movies don't do well. We just don't have the numbers to compete. My previous feature film sold worldwide and made back over 16 times its budget with just territory license fees overseas. South African sales amounted to not even 5% of the overall territory sales. This does not include sales of DVD's, Video on Demand, TV sales etc from worldwide. If I had to include those numbers, SA sales would amount to less than 0.5%.
