This weekend I wanted to get the car all sorted etc, but I am suffering with some hectic back ache so was not able to work on the car. Seems pushing all those VW's in my younger years is catching up to me now.

Purchased new MAP sensor (VDO) and a new Intake pressure sensor from bmw, you can clearly see why bmw charges almost R1000 more for their part, its for the packaging lol

While I was busy decided to clean the VANOS units
img_3623_3136747609.jpg

I have wanted to upgrade the vacuum line for quite some time on the intake manifold, as my BOV's fitting is significantly bigger then the stock 3mm one.

Stock Nipple
img_3624_7215218716.jpg

Stock Nipple cut off and correct size hole made
img_3621_7580334735.jpg

Hole was then tapped with a 1/8" NPT thread and brass nipple screwed in
img_3633_2466357396.jpg

It fit tight and Im sure I could have just left it there, but my OCD took over again. So then used some pratley steel to seal it
img_3636_3946883948.jpg

Then it was filled and built it with Q-bond and sanded

Then after a few hours of sanding and shaping and colour matching to get the right shade of black, we have a OEM looking fitment

Thanks Gents.

I Have put the car back together but have not driven it as yet, been a hectic time with my first born being delivered last week wednesday and also having some taillights and headlights to finish off.

I redid the Charge pipe as the Gloss black did not really fit in with anything in the engine bay

Sanded the pain the in the ass epoxy off

Homemade spray booth

Painted it with primer and then textured black

Found some perished vacuum lines, so replaced with silicone, they did not have black so I had to settle on Boksburg Racing Blue

Ordered a new wing for Monica, Was skeptical about the quality but I am amazed, one of the best ABS molds I have seen to date

The radiator had a small leak, so I made my own pressure tester . Cleaned the culprit up and used pratley steel on it.
img_4574_1269909171.jpg

And as usual all parts received a clean, still busy with the Engine bay.
