great car man .. even better mod list!! ..
i think OP is in cape town .. regarding the cars plates ..
Sugen at Violet Electronics will def be able to sort u a replacement ballast and globe for waaaay less .. his stuff is good quality .. only " issue " would be getting the stuff safely to you ..

Thanks will take a look!

The shuddering I'm experiencing is possibly related to cylinder 3 misfiring which is really disappointing as I had to spend my mod money on having the car decatted.

Back at the mechanic for a third time now.

Okay I could use some advice now guys.

The mechanic swapped coils and injectors around with another e90 and there were no errors being thrown up.

He then said it was a combustion misfire. He cleaned out the engine and put in fuel cleaning agents and told me to fill up and drive nicely for 200km as that should solve the issue.

Can anything think of anything else that could cause this?

Let him perform a smooth running test to see if there are any issues apart from actual misfires. It might be a dirty injector. Mine had a smooth running issue when tested, turned out to be some muck in the fuel rail that was affecting the no1 injector - this cases an over-correction and was outside the specified range. This sort of issue could be caused by all sorts of things, injectors, coil packs, plugs, or more concerning, valves or compression rings. Luckily it was just some muck in the fuel rail. They cleaned the fuel rail and all injectors in an ultrasonic bath, reassembled and tested - smooth running was now perfectly within spec.

I would run a tank of fuel with that injector cleaner and see what happens. But ideally try and have the smooth running looked at.
