My e46 idling issue

Good day fellow fanatics, My E46 318i started idling very strange when the car is on normal temperature. It will pick up to 1600 revs, then drop to 1000 revs. Pick up again, drop again. This will happen the whole time. I have googled this and found 1 exact similar thread but the page doesn't open up. Have anyone encountered this and how did you fix this?
Thanks, Petrie

Also try and get some diagnostics done to have the codes read, if the MAF check doesn't work.

I had an issue with my idle control valve, It was a hectic misfire though.

Other than jumping revs is there no misfire?

No Misfire. Just going up to 1600 rpm, then down to 1000 rpm. The whole time. Up and Down. Up and Down. I am going to test something else this afternoon. Had to quickly go somewhere and switched the AC on. And then it stopped. I want to try this again on my way home and see.
