My E36 [With Story][56k Warning]

Hi Guys.

Relatively new to the forum but I have been rather active these past couple of weeks.

As I am going on my first breakfast run this Sunday I thought I would do a little showing off of my BMW as well as share my short E36 story...

It all started in 1993 when my family bought an 93 model E36 318i right off the showroom floor. This is also my earliest childhood memory, sitting in the back while my father drove it off the showroom floor (weird because I was 2 at the time)

This was a fantastic car and loved every minute of it, in the early years there was an engine problem and a sub assembly was done so it was essentially a 318is under the hood.

I learned to drive with this car when I was 14.

Mid Last year (2009) the car was passed on to me for matric and studies this year. She was not in the best looking condition as we lived by the sea since 2001 and we had no space to park the car in the garage.

When the engine developed starting problems and it used 3 pints of oil per 150km It was time to pass her on. So I sold it to Clifton's M3 center for R8500 with more than 470000km on the clock (Was very sad to sell her off)

I wonder if any of the E36 owners here already have a part of her somewhere in yours...

Heres some pics I snapped before handing her over:

At least she's resting next to an M3:

And now for the happy part of the story...

That same day I lay her to rest I took a drive up to Langebaan to pick up my new E36.

The family of my best friend's family offered this car to me at R30k and I just could not refuse it.

She's a 94 model 325i with M3 front bumper and 17' CSL rims.
270000Km on the clock and still running fantastically as they really took care of this vehicle.
Refurbished Gearbox. Automatic but fantastic to drive.
New BMW Brakes.
Almost new rear exhaust (BMW)
A few chips in the paint up front from driving.
Fantastic black leather interior.
Sports steering wheel.

19 and already on to my 2nd BMW... Record?
To be fair the prev one was in my parents name although they gave it to me... This one I bought and is in mine.

On to the pics:

Not really, I just don't want to see somebody lifting them from you... Those are really nice CSL reps.

Considering the what the outside of the 318 looks like I am amazed how good the interior still looked, part from the seats, but still its amazing.

Good looking car you have there.
I think what you should do next is a nice engine wash, that should make it look even better :thumb:

Replica's??? lol. Damn my friend and his lies when they bought those mags... And I think my bumper is a replica as well, the original has a removable lip right?
