After the Sibaya Autox event a few of the Fanatics went to the Autotrix Dyno Day and I put my E46 on the rollers just out of curiosity. She made a humble 94 wkw which I didn't know what to make off. Anyways some of the fellow Fanatics who were present told me that the dyno operators failed to strap the car down and hence the reading should not be taken too seriously.
Well this peaked my curiosity and I decided to do another dyno run. Before I did the second dyno run on the Speed Shop dyno machine I did a manifold change by getting rid of the E46 manifold with cats and opted for the E36 cat less manifold. The car also has a full after market exhaust which was done by Road Master. Otherwise she is stock. The exhaust was loud before the manifold swop and just got amplified afterwards. She sounds great at high speeds but is freaking annoying when driving normally at low speeds. I have plans to put in resonators to quieten her down a bit.
Anyways, back to the point of the post. I finally got the car back unto the rollers at the Speed Shop about 2 weeks ago and made sure they strapped her down. Here are the graphs
The dyno operator was very surprised and said the graphs were impressive. I don't have enough knowledge on these matters but others who also saw the graphs seemed impressed.
Now obviously the E46 320i (auto in my case) is not a drag racer or dyno monster but that's not the point of me doing the dyno runs. I simply was curious as to what power she would make and how the graphs would look. The car has a few minor mechanical issues which I am hoping to have sorted out very soon. Then I will consider a remap to get her to be a bit more responsive at low rpm. I am also considering a super charger install / build
