Hi guys,
i would just like to share my story with ya'll and issues that i have gone through and still going through but it will not deter me from completing my project!!! i really must say that Lady Luck was not on my side... :yuck:
In May I bought a 1997 E36 316i from a buddy of mine who assured my that the car was completely sound and take me from CT to JHB or even durbs without any hassles! 5 days later... motor completely F@%$!
Hence we are no longer buds.
So with a lot of patience, 7 months later and a close call with a dodgy mechanic im pretty close to seeing her on the road again...:joy:
I have however opted to to upgrade the motor from the standard M43B16 motor to a M42B18 (Dohc) which has proven a bit tricky
On the day i bought her
She Looked really good
Mmmmmmmmmmm.........
So once getting the motor in we realized that there quite a bit of missing parts ( compliments of the dodgy Mechanic) - What more could go wrong
Parts to acquire:
Gearbox stabilizer bracket
Gear linkage rod
Air filer box
Exhaust
Power steering pump
Im all spent out at the mo, so going to have to take a breather for now a hope for the best... LOL till next time
