My brain fart of the day

Ok, so I'm considering selling my car. But browsing the forum today seems there may be more of a demand for parts than actual cars. Considering that it is "as new" in many ways and "slightly used" in all others - How long do you think it would take if I start selling it off in parts? :roflol::roflol:

I think I'd make a killing!!

You'd need patience and not be in a hurry. I've sold things on gumtree and you will get a lot of low ballers and chances, but there is always scope for some money to be made

I was once told, that a valve of a car is almost doubled if sold in spare parts. Problem is, it'll take so much longer to sell.

Well,

Yea, you will make more money, this is a fact,

But, you need space, or having a really really big liking for ugly lawn furniture.

Also, you need to be prepared to strip, you cant sell a motor without having to take it out, this means time.

Golden rule is that you should be able to sell the engine and gearbox for the same value of what you will get for the car.

Be prepared to gut an interior cause somebody wants a window switch.

Months, if not years...

And there's always leftovers, so theoretical value is just that, a theory. To strip a good car for parts, :nonono:

+1 Rather keep it, if you not going to get the price you want, or accept you might have to go lower.
