SO yesterday late afternoon the car got what sounded like a misfire and tried limping home. On the way home I here funny noises engine die and I come to a stop just just roll out a big intersection. Phone my dad to to give a short tow home.

SO today I check oil level, extremely high the hole plastic part of the dip stick is covered.
Check the water, reservoir is empty.
Check hoses all seem good.
Check the oil filler cap no foam.
take out spark plugs. cylinder 3 is coming out very very hard. Now i worry. Got it out. and looks like this:

SO I look through the spark plug hole. There is a loose piece of valve on my piston:

So yesterday I pop in at G&C to give the little I know off the engine to them. They had the cams off already. There is plates around timing gears of the cams that is broken and someone had work previously on the engine and not put the chain and gears in correctly alignment. That is why the car pinged a little sometimes and probably the cause of the busted valve.

they said the top is coming off today but have not heard anything yet. I know they are busy..... pending on the cylinder damage it might be easier and cheaper to get other engine.

Where do one find bmw engine?

if your engine is fixable you should get as much dont to it as you can while its open it will cost you a bit extra but it will be well worth it...
