Hi guys,

Bought this car in March. This is my first ABF. I am loving it.

The day I picked it up

She made 122whp on Stephan van Tonder's dyno. It pulls very nicely through the rev range. And the low down torque is awesome, you never have to get out off 5th gear.

I do have some future mods. I want to add a nice set of 17's, I am also going to lower it more, as it has a coil-overs on. I am not sure if I am going to do any engine mods. I don't want to interfere with something that is working so well.

I want to run it at Tarlton to see what time I can get. If I can get 15.5 and lower, I would be very happy. Just need to figure out how to get some traction. Car spins way too much when launching it.

It is really a fun car to drive and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Thanks

Awesome car to have man! Loved my 2 litre 8v conversion on my citi.com to bits. Even that was fast, this thing must haul ass. Have you taken on G5 Gti's? only up to like 120 I reckon but still

Cool:thumbs: be careful with the 17's and coilovers as the tire was rubbin the front coil springs and wearing out the shock mounts and camber bolts on my golf. Stick with the 15's and slam it. Also semi's are not that much for 15'

I have a 1.6 and love the mid punch on these rockers. Good fuel consumption. Developed some rust around the boot key knob. Dont drive the car much. Wanted to develop it into a track car and may still do this in future.

Ps. I am always on the lookout for the (last) limited edition 1.8 that was sold in SA to celebrate its end cycle in the market  i think owners wont sell them but perhaps...

Nice.

I was hijacked about a month back.

The car was recovered. But there was stripping damage, fuel management was missing, some under carriage damage and all my sound gone.

Insurance wrote the car off.

It will be missed

Sorry to hear buddy. Its a shame that no one in this country is allowed to enjoy their own stuff anymore because there is someone just around the corner ready to take all your hard work away from you
