Sadly my 92 BMW 525it is in trouble. The Automatic Transmission is slipping. I got a $2,500 quote new one, installed. OUCH! A little steep.
The rest of the car is in pretty good shape considering. It is just a shame to part her out as everything works but the tranny.
But I sure would like a 4 Speed manual!
I KNOW there is someone in the Bay Area who does the transmission swap. I am located in SF but would travel up any ware in the Bay Area for the right deal.

There was a time I would do it myself... but.. well a mans gotta know his limitations!

May take offers...

If you have time, do a manual swap yourself, there are a couple of guys on the forum that has done the swap with 540i's and it can only be easier with a 525. I did not know you get these in a 4speed manual? I would go for a 5 speed regardless. Oh, and this forum is primarily based in South Africa, so it might be difficult to find someone with contacts in SF, but very welcome to the forum!

If you can swing a spanner, you can do a manual swap. It is a hell of a lot of work, but it really is an easy job.

Do not part it, particularly if its nice.

5 Speed boxes are in abundance here in SA, as the 525 was very popular, so I am sure your side as well..
