Glad it's back and everything fixed I presume.

I hope so I will only know tomorrow morning it seamed to be worse in the morning when i first started the car.

They removed the Exhaust and installed the damner so it should be sorted

The dealer Principle gave me his card this morning when I picked up the car. I don't think he knows what he was getting into doing that

Lets hope they fixed it for their sake.

Dude I'm sorry about that...

Can't you give them back the car and maybe get another 32od?
I don't think they can fix the problem.

Well just an update on this I called the service advisor that dealt with my case and Alberante and he told me that he would get the tech manager to call me back to talk about it.

I waited a week and no one called so I got a bit pissed off

So I went to Lindhurst Auto the place I bought the car and the service manager there said they would take it with pleasure but Alberante would bhe the place it will get sorted quicker and I should try again with them since they already have a case open for this to get fixed

But I thought to myself I was not happy with the way this was done and the main person at fault here is the service advistor

I had the business card that the Alberante Dealer principle gave me and so i decided to give him a call tried a few times and he was not around so I e-mailed him. I told him what had happened and that his service advisor was more keen on getting rid of me than actually sorting out the issue and he did not call back when he said he would and most of all he did not listen when I told him what the problem was.

The Dealer principle called me back the next day saying he appologised for this and that this issue has been taken up with the service advisor's manager and the after sales manager was going to call me with the next steps to sort out the issue

Well he called me about a hour later saying that I must bring my car in so the techs can have a look and he knows that I do not want a 320i as a loan car.

The tech manager called me after that and I organised to come in yesterday and leave the car there over night so they can listen to the noice this morning with me.

They gave me a 320d manual as a loan car which was really good of them. Since from what i have heard they only give out 320i's as loan cars.

I went in this morning sat with the workshop manager in the car and showed him what was happening and he had his head in the bonnet while it was making the noise and he said he thinks he knows where its comming from and the car is there now getting fixed

I really don't know why I needed to go through that to get this sorted but they really seam to be comming to the party now

Lets hope they get it fixed

Just a quick comment on the 320d manual though I do prefer the auto this manual version does not seam as quick. I suppose I have to get used to it since I keep forgetting to put the clutch in when stopping at a traffic light.
Also is the gear nob supposed to vibrate so much my goodness its harsh. If you leave your hand on it to long it falls asleep.

The worst thing is that after all this they still have not fixed it even after the second try they actually didn't fix anything so I am really pissed off with theses guys

Looks like I have to try another dealership and tell them to go f them selves

Record a clip of the noise. If it's the exhaust that's vibrating, then you should be able to feel or even see it while under the car. Maybe you can visit a clued up member to take a look?

Take a vid and post it though.

Getting a new one is not really an option since this is really an irratation and the car is still fit for purpose so it will just get thrown out. If there was engine failures and unrealiability it would be a different story.

I have it booked in again to get fixed on Wednesday but something keeps ringing in my ears. A sign on madness is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

This is really messing up my new car experience I must say.

I will try get a video of the noise its not an easy fix and the dealer has to spend some time on it and these guys are to busy to be bothered

The noise is only there for about 5 to 10 minutes after you start it in the morning even if i leave it the whole day at work it does not come back that day only the morning.

Woohoo

Finnally got this fixed

It turned out to be a Petrol pipe vibrating against the body work in the enginer compartment.

The workshop manager said he found it last time it had come out of the bracket he put it back in and it sorted it while the car was there but it looks like it popped out again.

This time he cable tied it in place and he said it will never come out again

Well I have been driving it for a week and its still good so finnally got this one sorted now if they can just get rid of the rattle on the drivers door

If you don't have Duct Tape, you use cable ties :thumb:

Glad it's sorted. I have a rattle at the back on the left in my 540 which I can't figure out, but my car is 15 years old. Yours shouldn't rattle at all. It seems more and more cars comes with a rattle as standard these days :shakehead:

Cable tie, Hmmmmm I wonder what else they would cable tie when you have a problem with, as it seems you are satisfied with the outcome!!!

What are the bets this wouldn't happen with a 320i. You know how those diesels like to vibrate the h3ll out of everything :yuck:

In all seriousness i'd demand that they replace the car

Yeah I agree they Vibrate a lot I drove a Manual 320d and the gearshift shaked like hell it actually put me off the car a bit thank goodness I got an Auto.

The CPA would have thown it out the car is still fit for purpose and this does not affect the usibility of the car its just an anoiance nothing else

You could only argue to replace the car if you have had multiple failures that have left you at the side of the road or serious problems that have affected the ability for the car to forful its purpose and even then you would have had to given BMW a good few attempts to fix it before they would rule in your favour.

The CPA is not that easy they are just as fair to the supplier as they are to the consumer
