I finally pulled the trigger on having lowering springs fitted. I went with the Eibach Pro Kit and had them fitted in January. I wish I had done so earlier, the drop is suble yet it makes a world of difference to the appearance. I'm surprised at how close the ride is to stock. The handling has also improved, although I have been making use of the F82 much more than my car over the past three months and the handling is still chalk and cheese.

Some pics I took this weekend after a weekend in Saldhana Bay:

Looks great man.

But genuine question - is bumper/lip scrape just something we all accept as part of sedan ownership? I cringe every time I hear it but then I see folks lowering their cars even more.

It's not something you see unless you're under the car but still - not a great feeling every time you have a downhill into uphill situation.

Its a way of life :ROFLMAO:

F30 msport just has too much wheel gap in stock form, so lowering is pretty much a no brainer (plus it does improve handling somewhat)
couple this with the Mperf lip (imo the best front end accessory on these cars) , one just has to live with it

that said, my carbon splitter got recked after lowering 🫣

This is part of living with the M2 as well. It runs on KW V3 and is lowered by 20mm from stock. This is enough to make me apprehensive on the approach of every speed bump - I loathe them very much. It is such a persistent pain in my life that I don’t even allow my wife to drive the car…

It took me almost 2 years after I first considered it to action for the same reason . It is a choice we make and the compromise that comes with it sometimes.

I'm fortunate that my daily commutes do not have any routes that might become a pain to drive on. In the past 3 months the front lip has only touched (very lightly) over one speed bump. Not having the front spoiler would make it very livable to deal with in most road conditions. That being said after the springs set and I did some measurements, the front dropped by 20mm and the rear by 15mm. There are kits that go lower than this, which I personally would avoid.

I decided to get my rims refurbished. The one had a slight curb rash for a while and about a month ago the wife basically curb rashed another one which left it looking like a new polished lip on the front left wheel . Those who drove out of the P2 parking at CPT International Airport before would know how narrow it is...

I'm now doing all 4 rims and changing the color so will take some pics once it is completed. The mag repair shop put on a set of loan rims. I stand to be corrected but I think it's the 225M wheels from the E series. I was surprised at how good they look albeit the many better options for the F30. Will take out a few more pics when I get a chance but here is a quick snap I took.

Finally got around to posting this – as mentioned I had my 437M wheels re-sprayed back in April. After weighing a few colour options, I decided to stay true to the OEM look. With so many black and diamond-cut reps out there, I wanted something a little different, so I asked the mag shop to replicate the OEM Ferric Grey finish.

On the maintenance side, the car also had its oil service and rear brake pads done in April. Even though the oil change wasn’t technically due (just over 8,000km driven in the past year), I stick to at least one oil change annually to keep everything in top shape.

Here's a few pics:
