Ok. Update time.
Started with a bath.
Rinse, foam, scrub, rinse, soap, rinse, dry routine.
I use the standard 2 bucket & 2 wash mitt method. Buckets have grit guards.
Wheels are soaked in iron remover before coating the car in foam.
With the wash mitt I only wipe gently in a single direction, side to side or up and down. Never in circles.
I dry with 2 towels. Each side of the car has its own.
From the roof down to the bumpers.
By laying out the dry towel on the roof it soak enough water to prime it. A single wipe in one direction is enough to dry the paint.
Gently pull the towel towards you and fold twice. Keep folding over after each wipe to get a dry square.
Once a section is dry I lay it out on the next and repeat the process.
Happy car.

So I mentioned the rubber surfaces going bone dry and feeling like plastic.
Started sorting this out.
Taped so I don’t mess on the freshly washed paint. In this photo you can see a caked on mess between the roof and deck lid rubbers. It’s gross.
Generous blob of Shield SP9 heavy duty rubber & vinyl cleaner. Followed by a ton of scrubbing with a microfiber cloth.
Cleaned up nicely and coated with 303 Aerospace protectant.
Next but was less intense to clean. The rubber between the roof and the windscreen.
Ran out of time with the rest of the rubber but I did top up the wax coat with some spray wax. Need to find time to strip the coat, get the DA on there and fix the paint swirls and scratches. Just waiting for my sandpaper and paint pen to arrive.
