My 1st M Car...

So shortly after getting the car, I decided to sell my CSL reps with new tyres mainly as the current M wheels on the car were refurbed and brand new Michelin PS4 tyres were fitted by the previous owner, but it was a decision I quickly regretted later.
In my opinion the CSL wheels were just meant for this car, anyway I searched again but I couldn't find a decent set , also having to pay +/-12k for decent reps with no tyres and dodgy offsets was a bit iffy for me, fast forward to the end of July I received an unexpected bonus from work , Ive also been saving around R1500 a month on fuel by working from home and a couple of hundred bucks on my insurance, My head said save/invest it for a rainy day, my heart said OEM CSLs!!
I had to wait 2 months after I ordered it and then another couple of months to save up for Tyres, A special car with special wheels deserve special tyres so I opted for the Michelin PilotSport 4S

Well done bud!

Feel the same way about OEM bits on M cars.. Can only imagine how expensive those wheels were :fencelook:

Indeed they were crazy expensive but I have a serious wheel fetish , the petrolhead in me keeps trying to justify the price :fencelook:

Part number tells me that is a CS front rim not a CSL front rim so does your with . Still looks pretty.

Yes rears are CSLs and Fronts are CS, BMW Stopped production on the Fronts a long time ago and im told they dont have stock worldwide or certainly not in SA and Germany, The CS fronts are exactly the same except that its 8j instead of 8.5J.

You are misinformed.

You have differing offsets, then there is also the weight factor. The CSL's had a horrible tendency to buckle and crack rims where the CS rims did not seem to suffer quite as badly. I know two of my mates who had CSL's when they were new had rim replacements and well going by what they were told by BM dealers the replacement rims were heavier because BBS did some work on the rims to beef them up just a bit infact even in 2005/6 finding a set of front CSL rims was hard. How true it is one does not know but given sometimes OEM never issues a new part number (VW and oil control ring ring a bell) it might very well be that the CS rear rim actually superseded the CSL rim as a stronger replacement. Only way to tell is to find a CSL with original rims weigh them and then weigh a set of CS rims to see if the claimed 2kg differential between the two are true.

lol Thanks for the technical essay :roflol:
Rears are CSLs with part number 36112282999 , im unconcerned on the fronts as they are an original BMW (BBS) product and looks as good with perfect fitment, for me that's all that really matters.

Looks great with the oem wheels

I had the replicas on my Z4MR and took it off not long after fitting them as the offsets were bugging me
