Just one HUGE thumbs up to you for doing your racing where it was intended, on the track, and not like so many idiots out there on the roads, endangering not only themselves, but everyone around them.

:thumbs: :bravo: :ty::praise:

But this is where the sad part comes in..........

Due to economic pressures, such antics are usually the first to be cut out or scaled down due to costs.

Thanks bro, agreed!

IMHO Superbikes have no place on public roads. I completely understand the appeal of owning one.
But how I draw my conclusion is that for normal speeds (within the speed limits) there are way more comfortable motorbikes to go for a ride on. If it's speed you want keep it on the track. There you can drive the wheels off your bike in a safe controlled environment.
No potholes, no animals, no cars, no taxis, no buses etc. etc. You get the idea. Plus the paramedic is there constantly.
Yes, it is pricey. Personally I'd rather dish out the bucks for a track day than do ride to Harties and pay the ultimate price, like so many others on almost every Sunday morning.

Just my 2c.

Oh and I would like to add that had I come off like this on a public road... I wouldn't be typing this right now.

Sho I came off at Midvaal and slid on my leathers for what felt like forever and I never tore through like that O_O that's bloody intense! The damage to the helmet also looks hectic. Glad your ok after that!

I used to ride on the road and I loved it but I always preferred the track and went often.
I come off on the road for silly things the last one being a slip on what my self and the ambulance that just so happened to be right behind me thought must be diesel. I always rode with my full racing leathers so I was fine. I also came off once when a taxi cut me off, I was only going maybe 20kph and the guy just went from the outside lane and turned in front of me, crutches for 3 months and a sling! :thumbdo:

If I ever get a bike again it will be for track use only. It's almost impossible to stick to any kind of speed limits on a super bike and the number of taxis and SUV's has increased drastically and both are problems for bikes!

Why go from an S1000 RR to a ninja by the way?

How does the old saying go, "Dress for the fall not for the ride".

The leathers make a big difference. I think my arm ended up underneath me ie. sandwiched between me and the tar at some stage during my +160 Kph slip & slide.

This is the first time I've seen leathers grazed completely through as well.

I would never commute on a bike in GP for that reason. Way too many taxis, buses, trucks etc. being hazardous on the roads.
I've even seen the odd video or two of a taxi deliberately taking out a motorcyclist.

There was nothing wrong with the 1000 RR, in fact quite the contrary it's an awesome machine. I just felt like a change of pace, to try something different. Also I'm a tall big heavy-ish guy so the stock suspension was struggling. Even with the pre-load dialed up to max I still bottomed out the forks under heavy braking.
So I thought to myself I want to get something which has tricked suspension already. What made me consider a Kawa is local and international Superbike championships, apart from the V4 R dominance this year, podiums the world over were taken mostly by Kawa's until 2019.
