Hi Guys
Wanted to know if anyone knows a Mr Bones in Cape Town, I hear he's a BMW specialist and if anyone maybe has his contact details.

Lmao, that's what I said when I heard the name lol, wanted to meet the guy, and talk to him about a vehicle he has by him, long story behind it and the short of it is, Lover in mitchells plain is basically being bad mouthed over an engine he overhauled, same engine I came into ownership of 3 months after he overhauled it, engine was very good and lasted when the car sold (over a year I had the motor) and now 4-5 months later the head or gasket blew and according to the buyer, his mech Mr Bones told him the cylinder head bolts were "hammered in the head to fit" which I find ridiculous, I never had a heating issue with the vehicle and I suspect the kid who bought the vert have been partying in the red line quite often and blew the head or gasket
OK not so short lol.

:eek:mgwaiting: Um but why you getting involved now - are they looking to get costs out of you ? then let them wait to get hold of you.

The vert was bought for my nephew, the youngster who bought it is trying to blame the engine rebuilder (Lover) for poor workmanship, how can you knock bolts in a head [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] that engine would overheat within an hour or so, not last for close to 2 years and all of a sudden after 4/5 months with a new driver the engine overheats, it never had a heating problem, reason I'm kinda getting involved, the buyer still owes my nephew some cash and they have an agreement to pay off the balance, he now says he "won't be able to pay in a long while" as he has to repair the car and I suspect he doesn't have plans to pay the balance at all, also when pressed to send pics of state of the engine he said it's at work? wouldn't pics like that be on ur phone? I'm not really getting involved but I get the feeling he's trying to worm his way out of paying the balance he owes, hence I was asking if anyone knows a certain Mr Bones, I want to get in contact with him and personally go see the condition of the motor, just weird no one here (me included) haven't heard of this guy and according to the new owner "Mr Bones has 27 years experience in fixing bmw's and is a qualified mackie"

That's just it, I know quite a few bm guys but in all my years I've never heard of a Mr bones, not even in passing, need to get a hold of the new owner again, want the deets of this guy to personally see the condition of the head and the threads of the block, seeing the bolts were "hammered in"

:thumbdo: damm good luck sorting this out

Little update, so I got a hold of 1 of Mr bones workers and under the guise of a potential client asked if they could fix my 323i and his reply "nee meneer, ons raak nie aan daai vanos engines nie, Mr bones krap nie daar nie" [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY][FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY][FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY][FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] wtf man, I left it at that.
