Hi Fanatics,

Some advise Please.

My motorplan will be expiring on my 135i Conv in August this year.
the car is a 2008 Auto with 80000km and I have already renewed last year for the 1st time. This is be the last renewal.
The car has never given me any problems.

Renew or Not??

What are your thoughts?

Regards

Depending on what was changed at the last service, if you are due expensive items I would renew and try claim as much as possible before expiry. Last I checked time is around 12-14k.

Also depends on how much mileage you will be doing? I'm assuming your time will expire again before you hit 100k km?

So frankly you have three options; 1)Renew at BMW, 2)Subscribe to a third party motor mantainence company, 3) Dont renew/subscribe at all.

In my honest and valid opinion, you MUST renew whether at BMW or some other place. I've owned 3 135i's and now a 1M (all were on BMW motorplan). The 135i's are not troublesome, dont get me wrong, but when something goes wrong, they are damn costly and far from cheap to fix. On my manual 135i, R32K was billed to BMW Motorplan for a clutch and flywheel replacement...on my n55 dct, a VANOS replacement (inlet and exhaust) costed ~R28k. See my point :nonono:

Be safe rather than sorry, you must pay to play....

renew buddy you have an N54, known for injector and HPFP failure, renewal is at 13k now i think and 6 injectors will cost about 20k?

Renewal on time is much cheaper than mileage so therefore it's worth the outlay when this is the case IMO

I would say renew it. You will probably claim way more then what you would have paid.

I bought time on my E90 335i for R11 500 last year.

Thus far i have claimed nearly R80 000 in work on my car:fencelook:

As it's his 2nd time renewing the motorplan, it's going to cost more than the 1st renewal. The 1st renewal is at about 15k for time only, I'd guess this renewal to be very close to 20k, if not more.i would put that 20k away and put a little bit away each month too

Thanx for the input guys....much appreciated.

I don't think I'll reach 100000kms before expiry.
Its an Auto...

Renew it is then, at just over R14k incl VAT, so its a decent price...

Thanks Again..:praise:

Yepp that is not a bad price, maybe ask for a discount if possible.

Make the best of your motorplan.

The 335i is going in for injectors and new HPFP :fencelook:
