So other than the obvious, that being BMW,you have choices from Liquid Capital, SA Warranties, Motorite,Hollard etc. Just need to do a bit of homework. From my experience, Motorite are very good, I had a policy on my RS4 that covered everything except servicing. If the car is less than 100,000kms then you can get a policy for about R12k that covers the major components with an unlimited value (clutch etc.) for 2 years or 200,000km,whichever comes first. Compare that to MP, and other than the services (which aren't too expensive anyway) it actually makes good sense.

Aftermarket warranties are not at all the same as a motorplan. Apart from the fact that they have very low limits on anything expensive, like the engine, gearbox and turbo, they seldom cover wear items like suspensioin parts (shocks, control arms etc.). I have never heard anyone that was impressed with their warranty after they tried to claim for something expensive, but everyone that has one will punt it before that point.

At some point you'r going to say: "Bugger, should have rather gotten an extension on my motorplan"

I must've been one of the lucky ones with Motorite then.I had a R30k claim on the clutch on my RS4 and they paid everything, including the labour with Audi.

Lol,maybe I should've gone to the casino that day or played lotto :roflol:

 so the moral of the story is if you take one of these aftermarket warranties, and they pay, go take a lottery ticket right away or head off to the local casino. :roflol:

What did BMW quote?

If I wanted 15 000km extra (in addition to the 1 year) on my 135i it was something like R38k. I would take my chances with an after market warranty rather than pay that.
