Motorplan Extension on 2008 320d (E90)

Hi everyone,

Is there somebody here who'd be able to give me a rough estimate on what it would cost to extend the motorplan on a 2008 320d? Mileage is currently 90243km, I'd like to extend to 105000. I'm considering purchasing the car and would like to factor the cost in to my decision.

I got a 2008 320i 8 days ago. Had 84500 on the clock and got a motorplan time extension to August 2014 or 105000km. Purchased from Auric Auto in Claremont. The plan was something like R11000, but I got it for R8200 when purchased with the car. Do it!

A rough estimate would be between R12k - R20k

The E90 320d are very reliable, I bought mine out of plan, on 103 000kms, was a 2005 model, I only had servicing and brakes done
during the time I had it, think it was on 140 000km when I traded in.

As far as extending a MP is concerned, I'm against the idea. Extending by 5000km and some time costing R10k is something that will most likely never be used. You have to be extremely lucky (or unlucky) for something to go as catastrophically wrong that would cost R10k or more within the 5000km from 100k to 105k.

Let's hope I don't eat my words if something is to go wrong with my car in that time.

Nothing wrong with keeping a BMW out of plan, just maintain the car and don't skip service intervals. I've seen 320d's with over 240000kms with no serious issues to report.
