No, they have no problem when you give them money. The problems will come when you need something from motorplan. I don't think they even need to see the car to extend the motorplan, they just need to see your credit card.

But isn't your motorplan intact now? What I'm trying to say if you have your motorplan now with your sound system, why would it be a problem if you want to extended?

Oh ok, haha then like P1000 said, they are more than happy to take your money, but will be pain in the ass when you want to claim something haha.

I think the best way is just go the the dealer that you want your car to be service with, get to know the guys there and see what they say.

Good luck:thumbs:

just pull the sound out if you take the car in for issues.
if they do find out they wont supposedly void the motor plan on a whole , but they would disapprove any claims on electrical items as sound is an electrical installation.

AFAIK, BMW needs to do a quality check before they can transfer the motorplan to you. Hence, they may give you an issue when they do the check or put a comment under MP that the sound system was modified.

The problem may arise when you claim. For example, for anything electronic related, they could claim they are not liable ... However, this may be very dealer dependent.

When I upgraded my audio system, I called BMW and they stated that if I interfere with the Head Unit, it will not be covered. I had my system installed when I did just just 8000 on the clock . i Never had an issue from BMW regarding my install and believe me I went large (check out my sig). I even had my alternator replaced under motorplan. Make sure it a reputed installer who can back you up if need be. I went to Jan ,ASE , in Pretoria
